Summer Wine n’ Vibe was back and better than ever on August 26th at Lignum Vitae Market & Cafe in Freeport, Grand Bahama. With this collaboration, the menu for this event was carefully curated to align with the venue’s environmentally conscious, eco-friendly, vegan mission. The venue was indoor/outdoor and guests could walk through to try the food and wine pairings on each table and shop in-store at Lignum Vitae for clothes, eco-friendly products, art, and much more. Next, guests could stroll outside to enjoy the live jazz band and other vendors with eco-friendly products for sale.
Royal Sarge Wines/ Chocolate Creations
The night began with guests entering a new experience and a brand new venue. Charcuterie cups filled with cold cuts, cheese, nuts, and fruit met the guests at the door. One of the featured tables of the night was Royal Sarge Wines, a local winemaker in Grand Bahama. Their table was filled with fruity wines from pomegranate to blackberry and my personal favorite- the strawberry watermelon wine. The strawberry watermelon wine was used in the house sangria that was made by Lignum Vitae. The food pairing for Royal Sarge Wines was stuffed mushrooms along with some sweet white chocolate chip cookies. Both the Charcuterie cups and cookies were made by Chocolate Creations with the stuffed mushrooms being made by Livity Bahamas.
Strawberry Moscato Wine/ Streetry Sushiva
The Strawberry Moscato wine from California was bursting with flavors of strawberry, kiwi, and watermelon. It’s light-bodied and perfect if you enjoy a fruit-forward wine. The sweetness of the wine went well with the ambiance. I paired this with the shrimp tempura roll and spicy tuna roll made by Streetery Sushiva. You can catch them in front of the International Bazaar every Wednesday and Friday with a variety of sushi rolls to choose from.
Jour Un Rose Wine/ Livity
Finally, the last table had the Jour Un Rose from Languedoc, France – Meaning ‘One Day, One Rose. This light and airy refreshing wine was the favorite of the night. It was paired with Cucumber and Eggplant rolls made by Livity. Livity is located in the Rayvin Mall and is one of the few places in Grand Bahama that serves healthy food options. Surprisingly, my dearest friend from Created Lavishly stopped by with a pan of her famous Seafood Lasagna for the event. Although this was closer to the end of the night, the guests without a doubt loved it.
To conclude, the weather did prove challenging as rain came down but that did not stop the crowd from enjoying themselves. The event continued till midnight with guests full of great-tasting food and season-appropriate wines. Stay tuned to my Instagram Page- Tasty with Kc to see updates on the 2024 Summer Wine n’ Vibe.
